Law Library of Congress Webinar

We're excited to announce that the State Law Library will be featured in an upcoming Orientation to Law Library Collections Webinar. It will be hosted online by the Law Library of Congress on Thursday, September 18 at 12:00 p.m.

The event is part of the State Law Libraries Outreach Project, which aims to strengthen partnerships between the Law Library of Congress and state law libraries nationwide. Our director Amy Small will share information about our legal collections and services we provide to Texans and beyond.

Improved Access for Historical Legal Research

News September 15, 2025


We recently completed a project to make historical legal research more efficient. Old volumes of Vernon’s Texas Statutes and Codes Annotated and the corresponding pocket parts were moved to a publicly accessible area of the library mezzanine.

These key resources are now housed in one location, making it easier to trace the development of Texas law. This has also freed up shelf space for heavily used volumes like Texas Jurisprudence, case reporters, and session laws.
