Texas History Day

April 27th is Texas History Day! Texas History Day is affiliated with National History Day, an academic program that operates a project-based contest for students in grades 6-12. Students select historical topics related to a common theme and conduct research at libraries, archives, museums, historic sites, and more.
The library has several resources that may be of interest to Texas History Day participants. These include:
- Historical Texas Statutes from 1879-1984
- Research guides on Historical Texas Cases, Historical Texas Court Rules and Intent, Historical Texas Statutes and Constitutions, and Judicial and Lawyer Biographical Sources
- Online access to titles such as Taming Texas: How Law and Order Came to the Lone Star State, The Texas Supreme Court: A Narrative History, 1836-1986, and The Laws of Slavery in Texas: Historical Documents and Essays
- Print titles such as Lone Star Law: A Legal History of Texas, A Reference Guide to Texas Law and Legal History: Sources and Documentation, The Influence of Spain on the Texas Legal System, and Centennial History of the Texas Bar: 1882-1982
